Course Description: A course to provide on-the-job training to students who are interested in learning skills and knowledge in the broad field of agriculture/agribusiness regarding career opportunities, entry requirements, and industry expectations.

Course Outline:    

1.        Learns the Employability Characteristics of a Successful Worker in the Modern Workplace

2.        Demonstrates Skills in Verbal and Nonverbal Communication

3.        Practices Productivity Skills

4.        Determine Employment Opportunities & Occupational Requirements

5.        Choose an Occupation

6.        Understand Employee-Employer & Employee-Employee Relations

7.        Understand Business Ownership

8.        Determine Occupational Interest

9.        Assess Personal Qualities for Training & Employment

10.     Prepare Applications

11.     Maintain Job Security

12.     Maintain & Keep Accurate Records

13.     Understand Safe Working Conditions & Practices

14.   Learn Concepts & Skills Related to the Specific Occupation

 

Record book is required for this course.  Failure to complete the required hours or turn in a record book will result in failing the course.
